Welcome to the Treasure Your Pix User Guide!

You can use this software to design the product of your choice, using your own digital pictures. You can take as long as you want as you can save your work in progress. Once you have finished designing the product you can order it online. ..

How does this manual work?
This manual follows the steps for creating photobooks and other photo-related products. It leads you through the software step-by-step.

Start a New Product
The software will show an opening screen, when started. In this screen you can choose to open a product you created earlier (see "Editing a product") or create a new product. To create a new product, click "Create a new product".

A new screen will appear - the Wizard screen. The Wizard helps you create a product.

You can now select a product in the Wizard by clicking it. After that you click "Next". For some products, the Wizard will ask if you want the product to be printed double-sided. Tick the box if you want single-sided printing instead. Please note: once you have selected a product type and style you cannot change it.

A new window will appear which is divided into two parts. At the left, you can select a sample album under "Select a sample". An example of the product will appear on the right. In some cases there may not be any samples to choose from.

In these cases, the option field will show where you select your own background. An example of the background will appear on the right. Once you have selected your background, click "Next".

A new window will open. You can now enter the name of your product. This name is purely used as a file name and does not appear in the printed product. This name has to be unique; you cannot use the same name twice. Click "Next".

The software will now set your product up and once that has been done you can insert your digital pictures into it.

Building the Product
After you have selected a product, you will see the main screen that is explained into more details below:

Menu Bar
You will notice a bar with buttons at the top. Their functions are:

Wizard: Takes you to the opening screen. Here you can create a new product or open a product you created and saved earlier.

New: Takes you straight to the Wizard window. Here you can create a new product.

Save: To save your product.

Order: To start the order procedure for your product.

Fill: The software will automatically fill your product with pictures.
Select the pictures to be used in your product and click "Next". You can enter the start and stop pages for the automatic fill procedure at the bottom of the window. You can also choose to skip frames which already contain a picture, with the tick box. Click "Next". The software will now ask you if you want to start the automatic fill procedure. You can confirm this. You will see that your product has been filled with the pictures you selected.

Preview: Shows what your album will look like.
The "Warnings" tab will show if there are any empty frames left in your product.

Your Pictures
Use the browser window (My Folders column on the left) to find the folder containing the pictures you want to use in this product. By default, Windows stores pictures in the "My pictures" folder in "My Documents". Once you select the folder with pictures the software will show thumbnails of the pictures in the window below the browser. There are four small buttons above the thumbnails. These have the following functions, from left to right.

Button 1: Opens a menu to select the sort order of your pictures.
Button 2: Displays detailed information about your pictures. The information is displayed underneath each thumbnail.
Button 3: Uses the selected picture as the page background for the current page.
Button 4: Uses the selected picture as the page background for all following pages.

Workspace
This window shows the page layout. The bar at the top of the page layout window includes a number of buttons.

The following buttons are available, from left to right:
- You can use the arrows to go one page forward or back, or to the first or last page.
- You can use the + button to add pages (depending on the product).
- You can use the x button to remove pages (depending on the product).
- You can use the zoom buttons to zoom in and out on the product.
- You can use the rotate buttons to rotate the frames clockwise or anticlockwise.
- The following button is used to clear the picture in the selected frame.
- You can click the "Advanced" button to get more advanced options, as shown in the bar that will show after pressing this button:

Advanced bar

The following buttons are available, from left to right:
Button 1: This will adjust the transparency of your picture.
Button 2: Use this button to rotate the picture clockwise or anticlockwise. It will show the angle under which it is rotated in degrees.
Button 3: This will round the corners of the selected picture.
Button 4: Will add a drop shadow to the selected picture.
Button 5: Here you can select the shadow colour.
Button 6: Moves an object forward or back.
Button 7: Swaps the contents of two frames. Select the first frame before pressing this button and then select the other frame.
Button 8: Adds a photo frame.
Button 9: Adds a text object.
Button 10: Removes the selected object from the page.

The workspace has two field types: picture frames and text fields. Text fields can be recognised by the text "Double-click to add text". To place a picture on the page simply drag it from the thumbnails window to a picture frame. The picture will then be placed in this field. To add a caption simply double-click a text field and the text editor will appear.

Text editor window
The text to appear in the field is entered at the top of the text editor window. You can choose the text size, and bold and italics. You can also change the text colour from black to any other colour. If you tick "Apply settings to all new captions" on any page then these settings will be used for all the new text boxes.

Photo editor window
If you double-click a picture placed on a page the "Edit picture" window will open. You can use this window to edito the picture with a range of special effects and functions:

Adjust:
Lightness = make the picture lighter or darker
Contrast = increase or reduce the contrast
Saturation = increase or reduce the colour saturation
Rotate = rotate the picture 90 degrees clockwise or anticlockwise

Edit
•Crop = use only part of the picture
•Free shape = cut any shape you want from the picture
•Oval = select an ellipse
•Red eye correction = eliminate red eyes from the picture
•Negative = the picture is changed to a negative
•Flip horizontally = the left and right of the picture are reversed
•Flip vertically = the top and bottom of the picture are reversed

Special effects
•Black and white = the picture is changed to black and white
•Sepia = the picture is changed to sepia
•Green = the picture is changed to green colours
•Drawing = the picture is processed with a drawing effect
•Watercolour = the picture is processed with a watercolour effect
•Emboss = the picture is processed with an embossed effect

Page Window
The page window is the window at the bottom of the screen and displays all the pages of your product. If you change anything on a page, the page in this window will also change. You can doubleclick a page to display that page in the workspace.

Layout and Background Window
The layout window, right of the workspace has two tabs (Layout and Background) at the top.

Layout tab
You can choose your desired page layout with this tab. The layouts are divided into categories, which depend on the selected product. These categories are displayed with a drop-down menu above the list of layouts. If you cannot select a category or page layout then this simply means that the layout of the selected product cannot be changed. Once you have found the layout you want to apply to a page, select the "V" button above the category menu.

Background tab
You use this tab to select the page backgrounds. The list will include one or more backgrounds. The backgrounds are divided into categories which depend on the selected product. The categories are listed in the drop-down menu above the list of backgrounds.

There are three buttons at the top of the tab, from left to right:
Button 1: Place the selected background behind the current page.
Button 2: Place the selected background behind all further pages.
Button 3: Download additional backgrounds (availability depends on the product).

Working with a Saved Product
You have two choices in the opening screen:
1. "Create a new product"
2. "Open a saved product"
Click the white bar to edit a product you saved earlier. You will now see the product. If you saved a product elsewhere on your computer, click "Browse" and look for your file. Then click "Open".

Ordering
You start the order procedure by clicking the "Order" button. If you did not enter your name and e-mail address earlier you will be prompted to do that now. Please
check that your e-mail address is correct as we will need it to keep you informed of the order and production process. Press F11 to open the window to enter your e-mail address.

Depending on your version of the software, the ordering window offers the option to:.
- Upload the file over the Internet, or
- Burn the file to a CD

Select the first option to send the file. Before you can continue, we ask you to check if your product meets your expectations by previewing the full product. Use the "Warnings" tab to check for any blank pages or picture frames you may have overlooked. After you are satisfied with the result, please confirm that your product is exactly the way you want it. You do that by clicking the box in front of "I have checked my product and want to order it."

Uploading the File over the Internet
When you click "Next", your product is prepared for uploading. Obviously you will need an active connection to the Internet.

Of course, the upload time depends on the speed of your Internet connection. Depending on the type of connection you have, a product with a lot of pictures may take 20 to 50 minutes to upload. Once your product has arrived, you will receive an e-mail within a minute. In the meantime, you can continue ordering. This mail is sent to the address you entered in "Settings/Users". If you don't receive the mail, you may have entered an incorrect address.

Once you have entered all the order details you can continue to the payment page. Here you can select your payment and delivery method and complete the order details such as number of products, and various options.

You will receive an e-mail with the order number within 10 minutes after filling out the details.

Note: your order cannot be processed without an order number. If you do not receive an order number
then you have to place the order again as the payment did not go through. You don't have to worry

about paying twice, a second payment for the same order is automatically rejected.
Once we have received your payment we need five working days to complete your order.

Burning a File to CD
Note: place a writable CD in your burner before continuing.
Click "Next".
The product is now prepared for burning to CD. Cllick "OK" to go to the CD burning wizard.
Follow the directions of the wizard and it will burn your CD for you.

Downloading Additional Styles
To supplement the standard set of backgrounds you can download additional backgrounds and for some products even complete styles for each product. The procedure for downloading products, backgrounds and styles is described below.

1. When you are creating a new product, click the "More" button in the Background tab or the Layout window.

2. The second window will appear. It contains a list of additional products and backgrounds. You can select styles, backgrounds and background sets by clicking them and pressing the spacebar. Select all the styles and backgrounds you want to download and then click "Download backgrounds" (bottom right). The software will download and install the products, backgrounds and styles which are immediately available for use.

3. Once the software has downloaded and installed the styles, etc. it will display the confirmation shown above.

Updating the Software
The software will check once a week if an update is available. If there is an update the program will inform you and we recommend that you install the update.
